Our Theater Program is open to all ages and offers classes in musical theater, improvisation, and acting.
As with all classes, there is no audition required to participate as ensemble in our productions, however, for leading roles, auditions will be required. All Students are NOT required to perform, but as part of your growth process and journey, it's high suggested.
Classes in our Musical Theater Department allow students a chance to discover their individual talents and interests while exploring the basics of singing, dancing, and acting. Musical Theater classes focus on fundamental performing arts skills, emphasizing creative expression and fun.
These courses work on developing student's abilities in singing, dancing, and acting. The instructor focuses on each skill individually and then work to put them all together in a fun, creative and expressive way. The activities in this class are geared toward improving and enhancing the student’s self-image and self confidence. Imagination and creativity are essential components in this class. Through the use of age appropriate materials the instructor (s) ultimate goal is for each student to enjoy what he/she is learning through doing and to gain an appreciation for the arts.
All Rehearsal and Performance company classes work on applying student’s training to a rehearsal and performance environment. It is through this class that students will explore a more professional working environment that will require discipline, personal accountability and rehearsal etiquette while developing their own rehearsal process. The activities in this class are geared toward improving and enhancing the student’s self-image and self confidence. Imagination and creativity are essential components in this class. Through the use of age appropriate materials the instructor(s) ultimate goal is for each student to enjoy what he/she is learning through doing and to gain an appreciation for the arts
Classes in Acting emphasize skill development and are intended for those students who wish to increase their mastery in these areas.
Acting class is designed to provide a warm and nurturing atmosphere for the student. The student will explore and be exposed to Acting technique and method. Acting is doing actions to accomplish an objective as your character would do them. The activities in these courses are geared toward improving and enhancing the student’s self-image and confidence. Through the use of age appropriate materials the instructor(s) ultimate goal is for each student to enjoy what they are learning and gain an appreciation for Acting
Explore the Elements of Improv in our introductory course. You will learn the core fundamentals and principles of improv, focusing on various games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement (“yes and”); active listening, character, status, and making your scene partner look good. After that, you’ll start to apply these concepts into fully improvised scenes.
